Every client has different requirements for video. Depending on their organisation this could be a promo video, a product demo, animation, corporate video…the list goes on and on!!

Being familiar with an organisation and having an understanding of what they do instantly informs us of the type of video they may be after but going into an unfamiliar environment can be difficult.

In October we were contacted by the marketing team from Heel &Toe, following an initial meeting we put together with them a creative brief outlining how we were going to achieve the video they required for their most prestigious event. Their annual ball attended by over 350 people.

For those of you who may not have heard of Heel &Toe:

Heel &Toe have been providing FREE conductive education therapy to children all over the North East who have Cerebral Palsy and other physical disabilities from their centre in County Durham since 2008. The charity started with only 4 children and now helps over 104 children from all over the North East area aged between 6 months to 19 years old. As the charity’s reputation has grown stronger in the therapy field, so has the demand for the service they provide. Heel & Toe also offer a range of therapies including; Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, SEN tutoring and we also now operate an outreach service in the Durham area. The charity provides 15000 hours of free therapy every year.

The project really was a collaborative one between our two organisations and we very much relied on them when it came to who and what we could film. We consulted on everything that Heel & Toe wanted to feature.

The end product was a film which has become a successful fundraising tool.

THM also produced a shorter version to be used by the fundraising team and a series of short clips for use on Twitter and Facebook. We shot footage over 3 days, capturing general footage of the location, families as well as interviews with some of the families.

We knew from our pre-production that we wouldn’t require any over the top filming equipment; the stories that were being told were very much the focus.

We were asked to produce something slightly different from the previous videos they had used. We came up with the idea of producing the video like a news bulletin and worked with a young lady called Chloe who uses Heel & Toe services to anchor the video. We feel privileged that Heel & Toe to let us in to share their story with us. It did bring it home to us how massively important this organisation is, the work they do and the families they support it is truly heart-warming. We hope that the videos show just how positive and warm the place is. We also received a fantastic testimonial from the CEO.
